I began to read Marian Keyes as a "comfort" author, a read-alike for Maeve Binchy, and her other titles have filled this niche for me. This book, however, is in another class altogether. The quirky, well-developed Irish characters have their hilarious moments, but there are much deeper themes here. Passages to sob over, to laugh at aloud, and to ruminate over long after the book is finished.
