I really appreciate the way Casey Johnston writes about weightlifting, with a focus on discovering what your body can do and facilitating the process of building strength for an absolute beginner. She reminds you that rest and eating food are essential to this process and never makes guarantees about weight loss. What began as the "Ask A Swole Woman" advice column has morphed into a diverse and enthusiastic community of people exploring and growing their bodies with intention and joy.
