A Reader's Guide to Way Out West

Library Director Susan Brown wandered through the Ackland Art Museum's exhibit called "Way Out West: : Celebrating the Gift of the Hugh A. McAllister Jr. Collection" This exhibit charts how artists have responded to the landscape and the culture of the American West, from the nineteenth century through the present. As she engaged with the art, she thought of books - both fiction and nonfiction - that pair well with the exhibit and its themes.
